Parenting taboos!

Talking about sexuality, drugs, physical and psychological violence, gender and death are still taboos in our society. However these subjects are progressively being treated with more respect and freedom.

Besides these and others subjects, parenthood still faces many challenges. Its exercise varies from culture to culture. However despite those cultural difference, the core remains the same: physical, emotional, social care; education and development of the child.

Parenthood involves many topics and each day many people, specialists or not, have something to say about the theme. If you are interested in this theme, you can check my previous posts, as ‘My son does not know how to lose'; ‘How to talk about drugs’; ‘How to deal with children's questions’; ‘How to deal with lies’.

In this post I invite you to watch and reflect about some taboos raised by this couple in a TedTalk in 2010. In a simple, fun and very relevant way they show some taboos of parenting and the importance of getting involved in these theme, not only by parents but also family and friends.

See you next time,
Laura
