So Where’s Home?

Continuing the POLH theme (I suggest reading that post), I'd like to share a short documentary by a Georgetown University student with you.

The documentary explores the different perspectives and construction of the personal identity of the so-called 'Third Culture Kids', people who have spent a significant part of their development years outside their country's culture.

This name may sound odd but don't worry because this issue is more common than you may think. It helps us to better understand how these kids built their relationships and identity through contact with many cultures. The matter lead to researches and thoughts about the effects of this kind of personal identity construction, development, and the feeling of belonging of these people.

The documentary explores real-life situations of different youngsters, and being a "Third Culture Kid" how it influenced the personal development and construction of the identity, finally trying to answer the question: "so where's home?"

So Where's Home? A Film About Third Culture Kid Identity from Adrian Bautista on Vimeo.

See you next time,
Laura
